When I was only 20 years old, I was already a sea helmsman, sailing instructor, and in the near future the youngest Vice President for Training of the District Sailing Association in Kielce and the youngest trainer of this rank in the country. I organized and participated in many cruises and training camps, from Trzebież, through the Centre for Sailing Education of the Main Headquarters of the Polish Scouting Association in Gdynia or Sztynort in Masuria. However, I am most proud of the training, which I was probably one of the first and few in Poland, to conduct for disabled children from a school in Busko Zdrój. I taught them sailing in the best centre in Europe at that time, i.e. in the iconic Trzebież. I sailed on many Polish units, both small and large sailing ships. I was on board my beloved Pogoria right after it was built, teaching, commanding and collecting priceless memories and experiences. There were also: Iskra, Dar Młodzieży, Zawisza Czarny, and Generał Zaruski. Since 1998, he has specialised in sailing training, charters and organising cruises on the warm southern seas among the Croatian and Greek islands. Capt. Jacek Szczepaniak
