Dear members, friends and allies of the Evangelical Church Community of Herborn, with our church community's announcement last week, we responded to the current federal, state and municipal Corona measures. The cancellation of the gathering for our church service until April 30, 2020 was probably the most painful decision of all the measures we had to take on the church council. But the closure of our daycare center is also - despite all the necessity - a burden for the guardians, of which we are aware. The cancellation of all church music events until further notice and now also the cancellation of the planned radio service on Easter Monday hurts. The cancellation of all groups and circles and the need to keep our distance deeply contradicts our self-image and mission to create community and be a community. In the meantime, church services have been prohibited by the state of Hesse until further notice. What's more, gatherings of five or more people are generally prohibited in public places and paths. However, the church service without the assembled congregation is not. We have therefore decided to record the Sunday service on Saturday and put it online on Sunday - as well as the texts of the service in PDF format and the audio recording as an MP3. It would be nice if we could celebrate the service together at home every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. from now on. If you are unable to make it, you are welcome to do so later. Everything is available on our homepage for you to read, listen to and watch as well as download: www.evangelische-kirche-herborn.de. If you would like, please share the relevant links with your contacts. We remain connected to one another in and through the spirit of God, even if we cannot gather together. Stay at home! Stay healthy! Stay connected to one another! Stay protected by God's blessing! Your pastor Andree Best
