But a volcanic eruption here, in the middle of Germany?! That sounds somehow absurd. What many people don't know: Deep beneath the Eifel there could be a ticking time bomb! ???? In this episode of #TerraXplore, Jasmina Neudecker is on her way to a #volcano in Rhineland-Palatinate. At Lake Laach she can even hear the bubbling inside the earth and climb a rock face where volcanic gases rise from the earth's interior. With a geologist, she investigates the question of how likely such a natural disaster is here in Germany. Is the danger of such an eruption underestimated? Can these gas emissions also be fatal?
