This walk starts and ends in the centre of Durbuy, the 'smallest city in the world'. Since we did the walk in December, we could also enjoy the cosy Christmas atmosphere that prevailed in the city. The walk passes the 'anticline of Durbuy', a rock face that is said to have been formed 375 million (!) years ago. Before we dive into the forest, we enjoy a beautiful view of the Ourthe, with the castle of Durbuy a little further on. The ideal place to score a nice photo for Instagram ;). Then it goes steeply uphill into the forest. We have to follow the signs with the blue rectangle. The path is paved and takes us to a higher residential area. A little further on is the 'Belvedère' of Durbuy. From this spot you should have a beautiful view of the city. Unfortunately, the gate is closed. Apparently this place can only be visited if you take the tourist train of Adventure Valley. Very very unfortunate. We would have liked to take some nice pictures at this spot! The path then takes us to the Bois de Chapli. This is for us the most beautiful part of the walk. A very beautiful forest path and oh so quiet. We do not meet any other walkers on our trip. Then we descend back towards the Ourthe. Via the walking / cycling path that runs parallel to this river, it goes in a straight line back to the center. In the summer months, many kayakers can be spotted on the water. Once back in the center of Durbuy, there is a pleasant hustle and bustle. Many people have found their way to the Christmas market. We also mingle with the hustle and bustle for a while. We can already look back on a beautiful, varied walk. Given the limited distance, this is ideal to do with young children. Please note: the walk is not buggy-proof. Music: Start: Bensound.com End: Music: https://www.purple-planet.com
