About :

Kutia is a traditional Christmas Eve dish that appears on the table in almost every Orthodox family, especially in Podlasie. There is no complete agreement whether the word "kutia" comes from the Greek for "grain" or from the homely-sounding "kutka" - angle. As we hear in the film, grain is life, we reap the harvest from grain, which is why this dish is very important to us. Mrs. Grażyna Szeremeta from Bielewicz in the Gródek commune, who agreed to host our team in her home, will talk about preparing kutia in her home and its symbolism. The episode will also feature an extremely colorful character, an artistic soul in the form of Mrs. Dorota Sulżyk from Gródek. Mrs. Dorota will tell us about the art of felting and show us around her "Sunduk" studio. Do you want to know why "sunduk" and what does it have to do with folk tradition? Stay with us!
