In Nepal, young girls who meet 32 conditions are selected and worshipped as the Goddess Kumari. Kumaris are only allowed to talk to their families and cannot leave the house because they are not allowed to put their feet on the ground. We interviewed the families who take care of Kumaris who live in isolation from society, and a former Kumari.
