Krynica-Zdrój is one of the most famous resorts, referred to as the "Pearl of Polish Spas". It is located in the Beskid Sądecki at an altitude of 560-620 m above sea level in the picturesque valleys of the Kryniczanka and its tributaries, Krynica-Zdrój is surrounded by the hills of Góra Parkowa and the Jaworzyna Krynicka range. Krynica-Zdrój is located 150 km south of Krakow. Provincial roads number 971 and 981 converge in Krynica-Zdrój. National road number 75 runs through the Krynica-Zdrój Commune. Large, compact forest complexes are inhabited by rare species of animals (bear, wildcat, otter) and birds (eagle owl, spotted eagle). Nearly 1,000 species of plants can be found in the forests, clearings and meadows. The climate of Krynica-Zdrój has the qualities of a subalpine climate, it is distinguished by a large number of sunny days a year and significant fluctuations in temperature and atmospheric pressure during the day. Krynica-Zdrój owes its fame as a health resort to its excellent medicinal waters, among which Zuber deserves special attention - a unique water on a European scale with an extremely high mineral content. The numerous health resorts located in Krynica-Zdrój are perfectly equipped with treatment and healing devices and can successfully compete with the most renowned centers in the country and abroad. But Krynica-Zdrój is not only a health resort, it is also a dynamically developing sports center (mainly winter sports), tourist, recreational, congress and cultural center. Every year, the health resort organizes many events of national and international scope, political and scientific seminars, international meetings of people of culture, art, business and politics, artistic open-air events, band performances.
