In May 2011 I spent a few days in the Bavarian Franconian Forest. Kronach, Coburg and Nuremberg were the towns I visited. This film shows the upper town, i.e. Kronach's old town and the Rosenberg fortress. The town is nestled in the picturesque landscape of Upper Franconia. The town, with its medieval character, captivates countless tourists. The almost completely preserved town wall, the old town and of course the Rosenberg fortress take you back in time, and yet you experience Kronach as a modern, lively town. The town looks back on a history spanning over 1000 years. If you climb the town wall from the lower to the upper town, you will see an ensemble of architectural monuments in excellent condition.
