On the last day of 2016 I decided to go to the nearest railway crossing to me - the one in Kotomierz on Koronowska Street. For several weeks now it has been undergoing a thorough modernization - the control will be moved to the signal box, the crossing keeper's booth will disappear, and the crossing will gain modern devices. On December 27-30, 2016, monitoring was installed at this crossing to monitor the situation, as well as to monitor the process of lowering/raising the barriers, and to record events at the crossing, i.e. breaking a pole, entering/entering under a train. In addition, new lamp posts were brought to the crossing - as you can see, they will be modernized as well. A control cabinet for new lamps appeared at the control container, and additionally, the bases for the posts have already been dug in - the posts will be screwed to the bases. Finally, the crumbling posts from 1996 will be removed. This time, we managed to record as many as 10 trains, all within 3 hours. What's in the film: 1. 0:00- demonstration of newly installed cameras, halogen lights and a megaphone 2. 1:10- closing the barriers 3. 2:30- quick flight of EU07-215 with barrels to the ports 4. 3:23- closing the barriers. Of course, there was a fault, i.e. the pole temporarily suspended in the air. Fortunately, these are only temporary faults that can be very easily fixed - just wait a while and then press the button to lower the barriers. 5. 3:58- flight of ET22-R001 CTL Logistics with coal towards Bydgoszcz 6. 4:55- arduous flight of EN57 Przewozy Regionalne from Gdynia to Bydgoszcz Główna (1xRp1) 7. 5:34- flight of EP07-362 of TLK Bachus from Zielona Góra to Gdynia Główna (1xRp1). In the background you can hear Rp1 departing Kibelek before the crossings in Magdalenka (it's at Km1) and Pyszczyn. 8. 6:11 a.m. closing the barriers 9. 7:10 a.m. slow passage of ED160 Flirt3 as train IC45108 Hutnik to Gdynia Główna. 10. 7:47 a.m. closing the barriers 11. A duo of locomotives - Two Skodas: 182 101-6 and 182 034-9 with coal pull onto the additional track 12. 9:46 a.m. another closing of the barriers. Impatient drivers catch the eye, who, after the passage of the duo of Skodas, have had enough of waiting at the barriers and push through the red light. Additionally, the barrier got stuck again, and interestingly enough, the crossing keeper didn't notice it, and the barrier stayed hanging even with the trains 13. 10:16- ET22-785 with barrels moves onto the second additional track at a nearby station. 14. 12:38- Barrier no. 2 is still hanging in the air. Meanwhile, EU07A with the IC Heweliusz train on the Gdynia Główna-Wrocław Główny route flies by. 15. 13:12- closing the barriers 16. 13:30- Two Cargulowski Byczeks with low numbers pass by: first ET22-016 with coal for the ports, after a while the loose ET22-014 is heading in the opposite direction. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Level crossing equipment: 1. Old equipment (visible in the film): 2x SD-1M signals equipped with halogen bulbs 4x JEGD-50 barrier drives Regenerated + double-pole barriers, length: 4.5- 5 meters - Control: Linekeeper 2. After modernization: - 4x SD-K2 signals (LED) - 4x RHR-95 barrier drives + 5.5m barrier poles - 2x EHL-S10 acoustic loudspeakers Control: traffic dispatcher The film was recorded on December 31, 2016. I wish all viewers a Happy New 2017 Year!
