A bell presentation from the Catholic Minster Church of Our Lady in Konstanz will be presented. Konstanz is a district town on Lake Constance, located directly on the border with Switzerland and has around 84,500 inhabitants. The large Minster Church is the city's landmark and its impressive, Gothic tower stands out from afar. More detailed information about Konstanz Minster can be found at the following link: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konstan... The Minster has an impressive large peal of 19 bells, which are distributed across a total of four bell chambers. With a total weight of around 35 tons, it is the second largest peal in Germany after the Cologne Cathedral peal. Seven historic bells have been preserved in the Minster and are still hanging in the main tower today and can be rung. The six smaller historic bells are in the northern bell chamber, the largest historic bell, the Ursula bell, is housed in the southern bell chamber alone. After the Second World War, on the occasion of the 550th anniversary of the Council of Constance, the state of Baden-Württemberg donated 12 additional bells, which were cast by the Heidelberg bell founder Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling. The nine larger bells are in the middle bell chamber of the main tower, the three smaller ones in the roof turret. Together with the large, historic Ursula bell, the modern main tower bells form the 10-part main chime, which rings for church services on Sundays and on Saturdays to ring in the Sunday. On holidays, all 10 bells can be heard, while on all other weekends the partial ringing of bells 2 to 10 usually rings. The other six historic bells form the secondary chime, which is used for weekday events. The roof turret bells are only rung extremely rarely. On the most important holidays in the church year, the 16-part main tower plenum rings in the Konstanz Minster.
