The godless, rough-and-tumble medium Ludwig Bruckmeier (Dieter Fischer) has repeatedly maneuvered himself into prison, despite his best contacts in the afterlife. With the help of a generous donation, his energetic probation officer Christine Wurzelbacher (Ursula Maria Burkhart) has now placed him in the parish rectory of all places with Pastor Gabriel Gottwald (Moritz Katzmair) - including strict probation conditions and an electronic ankle bracelet. The man of God wants to put the reluctant Ludwig on the right path with the help of his kind but somewhat stiff pastoral assistant Elisabeth (Julia Urban).
