About the case: A lawsuit has recently been submitted to the Gothenburg district court regarding a serious crime of violence that took place on November 18, 2023 in Rambergsstaden on Hisingen in Gothenburg. The defendant is accused of murder, attempted murder and serious breach of child protection. According to the prosecutor's petition, the defendant intentionally killed his mother-in-law through repeated stabbings that resulted in serious injuries to, among other things, the lungs, heart and aorta, which led to her death. That same evening, the defendant also allegedly attempted to kill his wife by stabbing her several times, causing life-threatening injuries to the abdominal wall, small intestine, colon and pleura. It has emerged that two children, who are the sons of the defendant and his wife and grandchildren of the murdered woman, witnessed these acts. This means that the defendant is also charged with a serious breach of child protection. The crime classification is considered serious as the children witnessed very serious violence. The Gothenburg District Court will take up the case again on August 21 after the Medical Examiner's Office has submitted its opinion and after that the verdict will be announced. ????
