Música #EmCasaComSesc will broadcast a special show by the duo Kleiton & Kledir from Rio Grande do Sul. Born in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, the brothers will perform live from Rio de Janeiro, where they currently live, strictly following all precautions to prevent Covid-19. With a 40-year career, completed in 2020, the musicians have accumulated successes and experiences: 20 albums, performances in Brazil, the USA, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, as well as compositions recorded by artists and bands such as Simone, Adriana Calcanhotto, Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins, Fafá de Belém, Fábio Jr., Nenhum de Nós, Mercedes Sosa and Fito Paez. Owners of some hits of Brazilian popular music from the 1980s, they will sing and also play guitar and violin. The repertoire includes compositions such as “Paixão”, “Fonte da Saudade” and “Navega Coração”. Kleiton and Kledir began studying music when they were still boys. In the 1970s, they went to Porto Alegre to study composition and conducting, as well as engineering. During college, they got together with three friends and formed the band “Almôndegas”, which recorded four albums. They then formed a duo and released their first album in 1980. Since then, Kleiton and Kledir have continued to bring new popular music from Rio Grande do Sul to Brazilian culture. After many years of success among adults, K&K decided to compose for children and released the children’s CD “Par ou Ímpar” in 2011. Excited by the recognition of their work, they put on a musical, theatrical and circus show, with the participation of actress Fabiana Karla. “Com Todas as Letras”, from 2015, is Kleiton & Kledir’s most recent album. The CD promotes a dialogue between literature and popular music. The work features unprecedented partnerships between K&K and great names in our literature, who experienced writing song lyrics for the first time, such as Luis Fernando Verissimo, Martha Medeiros and Fabrício Carpinejar.
