Kiso Akazawa Forest Railway C4 runs on main line for the first time in half a century

About :

On October 19, 2024, I participated in the "Akazawa Natural Recreation Forest Special Photo Session: Encountering the Illusion of a Forest Railway in the Kiso Valley in Autumn" organized by Club Tourism. The Akazawa Forest Railway has been revived as a tourist railway, but the vehicles that were in service until the forest railway was abolished half a century ago are also carefully preserved, and this photo session was held using those vehicles. Unfortunately, the weather on this day made the plan change at the last minute. The DBT10 (C4) diesel locomotive from Sakai Machine Works, which was not originally scheduled, was run, exciting forest railway fans. This is the first time that the C4 type has run on the main line since its abolition in about half a century. For this day, the horn and operation display board were also restored, and the main line was run with a lumber trolley, just like when it was in service.
