About :

This is a front view video of an express train running a long distance from Osaka-Uehommachi Station on the Kintetsu (Kinki Nippon Railway) Osaka Line to Ujiyamada Station on the Yamada Line, passing through Yamato-Yagi Station and Ise-Nakagawa Station. The entire section from Osaka-Uehommachi Station to Ujiyamada Station was filmed in real time. Osaka-Uehommachi Station is the starting station of the Osaka Line. It has been the terminal station (Uehommachi Station at the time) since Kintetsu opened in 1914 as Osaka Electric Tramway (Daiki). At that time, trains to Nara departed and arrived there. Later, Daiki and Sankyu Electric Railway (Sankyu) completed the current Osaka Line in 1930 (Daiki runs between Uehommachi Station, Fuse Station and Sakurai Station, and Sankyu runs between Sakurai Station and Ise-Nakagawa Station), and in 1941 Daiki merged with Sankyu, and the Osaka Line was extended up to Ise-Nakagawa. As of 1930, Uehommachi Station had four tracks on one side and two tracks on both sides, making it a five-platform, six-track station, but once trains left the station, it became a double track, and trains heading to Nara and Ise-Nakagawa shared the same tracks. Later, in 1956, the Osaka Line and the Nara Line were separated, and Uehommachi Station also became a nine-platform, eight-track Kushigata Station with platforms on both sides, with four tracks each for the Nara Line and the Osaka Line. Then, on March 1, 1970, the Namba Line was opened from Uehommachi to Namba Station in central Osaka (operations began on the 21st), and since the Namba Line was an underground line, an underground platform was built to allow trains to run directly to the Namba Line. At this point, Nara Line trains and some Osaka Line limited express trains began arriving and departing from Namba Station (now Osaka-Namba Station), and the above-ground station became exclusively for Osaka Line trains (except for some limited express trains). More than 45 years have passed since then, and the station name has been changed to Osaka-Uehonmachi Station, but even now, the above-ground station is a large terminal station with 6 platforms and 7 tracks. When the train departs from Osaka-Uehonmachi Station, the Nara Line (although it is called the Osaka Line on the route, it is often referred to as the Nara Line because trains directly to the Nara Line run there) rises from underground to the elevated track and runs parallel to it. It immediately passes under the Osaka Loop Line and arrives at Tsuruhashi Station. Since it stops opposite the Nara Line train at the same platform, it accepts passengers from Namba and the Hanshin Namba Line at Tsuruhashi Station. After departing, the quadruple track section continues for a while, and in this video, you can see the scene where it runs parallel to the rapid express bound for Nara, which is a highlight. It separates from the Nara Line at Fuse Station and runs non-stop to Kawachi-Kokubu. There are many trains passing by, not only local and express trains, but also regular limited express trains and the Urban Liner from Nagoya. The train continues to run smoothly, and after joining the short-cut line from the Kashihara Line, it arrives at Yamato-Yagi Station, a transfer station with the Kashihara Line. After leaving Yamato-Yagi, the number of houses decreases and the scenery becomes more tranquil. Leaving Sakurai Station, where the JR Sakurai Line can be seen below, the train passes two stations and stops at Haibara Station, and from here it stops at every station. On the other hand, as it enters the mountainous area, the distance between stations becomes longer, ranging from 2.4km to 4.3km, with some stations even 7.1km or 7.7km apart. Leaving Nabari Station, which is a border station between the Kansai and Chubu regions, many of the trains passing by are two-car local trains. Leaving Sakakibara Onsenguchi, it passes three stations for the first time in a while and arrives at Ise-Nakagawa Station. This station is a transfer station with the Nagoya Line, and from here it enters the Yamada Line. Once on the Yamada Line, the train regains its express-like running style, and after stopping at Matsusaka Station, it passes through eight consecutive stations before arriving at Ise-shi Station. Both stations are transfer stations with JR Central, so you can see JR Central trains before arriving at the station. After leaving Ise-shi Station, it travels just 0.6km to its final destination, Uji-yamada, and the long journey of 2 hours and 13 minutes comes to an end. The train I rode in was a six-car train consisting of four 2610 series cars and two 2410 series cars. The photo was taken on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, on the express train bound for Uji-yamada, which departed from Osaka-uehommachi Station at 13:15. The camera was a Sony HDR-CX720V high-definition digital video camera.
