We invite you to an online concert entitled "Kilar", performed by the "Śląsk" Song and Dance Ensemble. This is a colorful and lively spectacle based entirely on the music of one of the greatest contemporary composers - Wojciech Kilar, whose cooperation with the "Śląsk" Ensemble began in the 1960s. The concert was recorded on the last weekend of January this year, in the concert hall of the Youth Palace in Katowice. The program includes dances in choreographic arrangements by Elwira Kamińska, Hanna Chojnacka and Juraj Kubanka, enriched with songs from Upper Silesia, the Dąbrowa Basin and the Żywiec Beskid Highlanders. You will be able to hear one of the greatest hits of "Śląsk" - "Głęboka studzienka", as well as less frequently performed, including "Kogut", the waltz "Sowa na gajusiadła", "Deszczczyk pada" or "Koń wody pije". The ballet will be danced by, among others: the stately "Polonaise" to the music from the film "Pan Tadeusz", "Kujawiaki kłusyńskie", "Polka szturchana", will evoke the highlander climate in "Harnaś i zbójniki". We will also see "Przyśpiewki i tańce Górali Żywieckich", and in the finale the famous "Orawa" - a work by Wojciech Kilar from 1986 - in the spectacular choreography of Juraj Kubanka.
