Khorramshah Sultan was the only conjugal, original and legal wife of Sultan Suleiman I and the mother of Suleiman II. Khorram Sultan was the most powerful feature of the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and became one of the most powerful and influential women in the history of the Ottoman Empire, and as a prominent and controversial figure, she started the period that later became known as the reign of women. Khorram was born in Ruthenia, in what was then the Eastern District of the Kingdom of Poland. He was captured as a slave during the invasion of the Crimean Tatars and eventually transferred to Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire. She entered the imperial harem and gradually became the most popular maid of Sultan Suleiman. Breaking the Ottoman tradition, Suleiman married Khorram and made her his legal wife. She was the first wife of Ottoman sultans who received the special title of Sultan. Khorram remained at the sultan's court for the rest of his life and had six children with Suleiman, including the future Ottoman sultan Selim II. She was also the grandmother of Murad III. Khorram Sultan eventually reached a power that was unusual and unprecedented for women before her, and from behind the scenes and through her husband, she had a significant presence and influence on the policies of the Ottoman Empire, and during most of Suleiman's reign, especially at the end of it (until His death) played an active role in the affairs of the empire. As the sultan's chief advisor, he intervened in the internal affairs of the state and also corresponded with King Sigismund II Augustus of Poland (1572–1548) in foreign and international relations. Also, he supported public and charitable works (which include Sultan Khasgi complexes and Khorram Sultan baths) and gave a lot to the poor and needy and active public works such as building houses and caravanserais on the way to the Silk Road and building commercial ports on the coast of Arabia in ( the side of Mecca and Medina) was famous.
