“Khlongsan” is an old district on the banks of the Chao Phraya River on the Thonburi side with a history dating back to the Ayutthaya period. It is an area full of ethnic diversity and cultures, including Thais, Chinese, and Muslims, which are connected by maritime trade. It is considered one of the most economically important areas of Rattanakosin. During the reign of King Rama VII, when the Phra Phutthayotfa Bridge was built and additional roads were built, Khlongsan began to change its role from an economic district tied to maritime trade to a more residential area. The emergence of Charoen Rat Road and the leather business, as well as the construction of Charoen Nakhon Road, and the arrival of the electric train, condominiums, and large shopping malls all reflect the rapid development in the present. Take a look at the development path of the Khlongsan-Charoen Nakhon area, from the past when it was just a rice field canal until it became a colorful business district and a center of luxury as it is today.
