Kerta Árpád-era settlement, its name was mentioned in a certificate as early as 1272 Keercha, then in 1469 as Kyrtha. Its territory has been inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by the mass graves, urn graves, fragments of Roman-era vessels, spiral-decorated ceramic pieces made on a hand disc from the Árpád period, and site remains excavated on a ridge in the Várcsalit Plain. In 1488 it was owned by Pál Kinizsi. At that time, it paid 40 forints in national tax, which presupposes the existence of a large, populous serf village. In 1514, its population also participated in the peasant movements around Somló. In 1552, a great plague devastated the village, and in 1570, together with the destruction of the Turks, 62% of its plots became uninhabited, and in 1596 it was already marked as an uninhabited place. Later, however, it was populated again. In 1696, it was part of the Vázsonykő castle and belonged to the Zichy family. In 1807, it was a landowner's estate with 540 acres of arable land, and the inhabitants of the village shared 800 acres of arable land and 1,000 acres of forest and pasture. At the beginning of the 20th century, it belonged to the Devecseri district of Veszprém County. In 1910, it had 870 Hungarian inhabitants, of which 602 were Roman Catholics, 17 were Reformed, and 243 were Lutheran. On September 14, 1949, 14 farmers formed a producer cooperative group called Vörös Csillag. In the same year, the village received a machine station with five tractors, the machines mainly helped the united farmers. After that, another tsz group was formed in 1950: Várcsalit-pusztai Új Kenyér and in 1951 Haladás. Új Kenyér later merged into Vörös Csillag. In 1956, due to the large number of withdrawals, the tsz formally ceased to exist, but in practice they continued to operate, as several people withdrew. Despite this, in the fall of 1957, Új Élet was founded as a new tsz, which later took on the name Jóbaratság in 1974 by joining the tszs of Kamond and Karakószörcsök. From the fifties, the living conditions in the village changed significantly, the village began to develop rapidly: in 1950, a permanent cinema was established; in the same year, a machine station began to operate; In 1952, Kerta was included in the bus traffic; in the following year, 23 new apartments will be built; In 1954, the baking plant was built, in 1955 the Tüzep plant and the crop sales office, which was converted into a post office in 1968; In 1956-57, a two-kilometer access road to the main road was built, street lighting was also completed in the side streets; In 1959, two kilometers of concrete sidewalks were built, and in 1963, sidewalks were completed on every street; also in 1959, the self-service store opens, the general store is remodeled, and the 30-wagon crop warehouse is built; In 1960, the bus service expands in the direction of Pápa; In 1962, the four-classroom primary school was completed; in the following year, a bachelor's dormitory, bathroom, kitchen and dining room will be built at the Machine Repair Station; In 1964, the cultural center was expanded with two changing rooms and a club room; The concrete plant starts operating in 1965; Between 67 and 69, the Machine Repair Station builds two service apartments, the tsz builds a semi-detached apartment; in the same period, the gas exchange plant and the press were established, a council service apartment was built, the railway station was expanded, and the Council House was rebuilt. In the 1960s, Csabrendeki was also attached to the machine station in Kerta, thus creating a new company: Mezőgép Kertai Factory Unit, which in 1975 became the factory unit of Bakony Művek. Faüzem started operating in 1969; In 1973, a sports locker room and a mortuary were built in the cemetery. At that time, the tsz repair workshop will also be completed, and the following year will be handed over to the Savings Cooperative. In 1975, the 50-place kindergarten was completed; ÁFÉSZ of Kerta and Somlószőlős are merging. In the following year, a Pioneer House was built on the school grounds, which was later - in 1987 - demolished due to the expansion of the school. From 1969, the central village of Kerta: the joint council of four villages (Iskáz, Kamond, Karakószörcsök, Kerta) operated here. In 1978, two teachers' service apartments were built, a two-group daycare center was opened, and a school office, a bus interchange, and a road bridge were also built. The Waterworks Company was established, and the next year they started building the Waterworks and public works. The work was completed in 1983, and thus the old wish of the population was realized: the settlement would have access to healthy drinking water. In 1985, the cultural and educat
