◼︎ In the summer of 2001, the History Special production team visited North Korea for about 20 days and filmed important historical sites remaining in North Korea. In particular, since Pyongyang was the capital of Goguryeo 1,500 years ago, we were able to find various traces left by the Goguryeo people. Among them, the cultural heritage that is so important that North Korea has designated it as National Treasure No. 1 is Goguryeo Pyongyang Castle. Pyongyang Castle has a circumference of 16km and a total length of 23km. It was systematically built to prevent enemy invasions and to perform its role as a capital city, with a six-layered stone wall and well-maintained inner and outer walls.
