Last year I wanted to go kayaking on the Danube through the Wachau when the apricots were in bloom. Back then everything was closed and forbidden. But this year sport was allowed and together with my son we went kayaking from Melk to just before Krems. My son was out on the Gumotex Seawave, I was on the Kayak Innovations Natseq modular boat. Personally I don't find kayaking on the Danube in Austria particularly appealing due to the width of the Danube and the many fortifications, but the Wachau with its castles, palaces and ruins does have its own charm.
