Kalkan is a town in the Kaş district of Antalya. It is located between Fethiye and Antalya. The Greek island of Meis is located just across from Kalkan, which is located in the west of Antalya. Kalkan, which is 25 km away from Kaş, is considered a neighborhood of Kaş. The settlement, founded by the Greeks living in Meis, was called 'Kalamaki' until 1920. Kalkan has an orderly, clean, and preserved atmosphere. All of the painted, well-maintained historical Greek houses are used as hotels, restaurants and shops. You should walk down to the seaside through narrow streets with no traffic among the old Greek houses. There are many very cute cafes and restaurants in the side streets. The mosque you will come across while walking has been converted from a church. The bell of the church built in the 1800s is exhibited on one of the streets. The sea in Kalkan has a blue flag. The public beach next to the marina is open to everyone. This place is run by the municipality, so both the umbrellas-chair chairs and food prices are very reasonable. There is also a children's park next to it. Kalkan is one of the holiday resorts preferred especially for villa holidays in recent years. The British who have settled in Kalkan in the last 20 years have also caused the tourism of this place to take shape. Many of them have their own houses.
