Revyakin The new studio album of the legendary - originally from Siberia - rock band "Kalinov Most", laconically called "Kholsty", will definitely take a special place in the band's discography. The fact is that this is the first studio work of "KM" in an updated line-up - with a new guitarist (Dmitry Plotnikov) and a new drummer (Dmitry Krichevsky). Therefore, some creative excitement and cultural intrigue were certainly in the air. On "Kholsty" "Kalinov Most" definitely sounds fresh and exciting. This does not mean that their style and musical direction have somehow radically changed. On the contrary, the album presents, perhaps, all the best of the band's musical achievements. A convincing bass line (Andrey Baslyk), powerful guitar riffs, folk and ethnic colors (the accordion, bouzouki, and mandolin performed by Alexander Vladykin are heard), elements of heavy blues, heartfelt lyrical pieces that can boldly replenish the golden fund of "Kalinova" ballads (the bright hippie "Tsvetnaya", the mystically sad "Proshhalnaya"), intricate overflows of art-rock waves ("Zhiv", "Vozdukh") and folk-like melodious and assertive rock manifestos in the spirit of the early "bridge" ("Dayosh!"), a tribute to the unsurpassed "Pesnyary" of Vladimir Mulyavin (the composition "O samoe govnogo" is dedicated to him), and simply beautiful songs that you want to sing and drink with your soul. But on this recording, a young, elastic wind seemed to have flown over this entire musical landscape, blowing away the dust and revealing the original, convex design more clearly.
