Assembly and cleaning should also be uncomplicated. In the juicer test, three centrifugal juicers and three slow juicers compete against each other. In the practical test, each device is supposed to press apples and carrots. The devices are also tested for workmanship and performance in a test laboratory. CENTRIFUGAL JUICER The centrifugal juicers tested: a device from Severin, a juicer from Philips and the Russell Hobbs Desire. All of the three centrifugal juicers tested are easy and intuitive to assemble. The pressing mechanism is closed at the side with brackets. Juicers with centrifuges make a lot of noise and are about as loud as lawn mowers. With the centrifugal juicer, the fruit and vegetables go into the device's feed chute and are chopped up. Inside, the juice is spun out in a centrifuge. The rule here is: the more power a device has, the higher the juice yield as a rule. SLOW JUICER The slow juicers tested: an inexpensive model from LIDL's own brand Silvercrest, a slow juicer from Bosch and a device from Panasonic. The slow juicer devices are more difficult to assemble than centrifugal juicers. Slow juicers are also usually more expensive and juicing takes significantly longer. However, the slow juicers we tested are significantly quieter than centrifugal juicers. In slow juicers, the pulp is pressed slowly and gently by a so-called press screw. The following applies here: the fewer revolutions the device has, the more nutrients remain in the juice. CONCLUSION OF THE JUICE PRESS TEST All slow juicers were convincing in the practical test. The juice yield is similar for the centrifugal juicers and slow juicers tested. The clear winner in both categories is the Philips device. The Panasonic juicer is convincing for the slow juicers. Tip: No matter which juicer you choose - don't throw away the pulp. It's great for muesli or cake.
