Slideshow for podcast episode 48: JUFA Hotel Stift Gurk July on the road - Carinthia highlights The podcast of the south Info about the podcast: Ayurveda meets monastic tradition: Holistic well-being in the heart of Carinthia For this podcast episode, I found another special Carinthian highlight in the Gurk Valley in central Carinthia and visited the JUFA Hotel Stift Gurk. I met the hotel director Karin Mena Liriano for a very interesting and exciting conversation in the romantic monastery. We chatted about Ayurveda, the Gurk Abbey and the numerous advantages that guests can expect there in the unspoilt Gurk Valley. I was also able to learn a lot about her private life and then got to know the hotel's head chef, Robert Karasin, who initiated me into the secrets of Ayurvedic cuisine and prepared a fantastic meal for me. Last but not least, I spoke to the Indian doctor and leading practitioner, Siddik Salahudeen, who teaches and practices at the Tulsi Ayurveda Center in Gurk and whose massage skills I was able to convince myself of. Finding your center in Gurk. Namaste! Extensive meadows, densely wooded mountain slopes and the cheerfully murmuring Gurk River surround the JUFA Hotel Stift Gurk, housed in the historic monastery building and the location of Carinthia's first authentic Ayurveda center. You can also visit Saint Hemma here, who has been buried in the crypt of Gurk Cathedral since 1174. A must for all Carinthia, leisure, culture, culinary, travel and music fans.
