I traveled to Crato, in the south of Ceará, about 516 km from the capital Fortaleza, to visit the mystical region of Horto and tell the story of Padre Cícero. Juazeiro do Norte is one of the main pilgrimage centers in Brazil, a city that stands out for its local culture, religious traditions and the natural beauty of its surroundings. The city is also part of the Cariri Metropolitan Region, an important urban center that drives the economic and social development of the south of Ceará, with a diversified economy that includes commerce, tourism, agriculture and industry. One of the main points of interest in Juazeiro is the Parish of Nossa Senhora das Dores, founded in 1875 and dedicated to the city's patron saint, and the Sanctuary of São Francisco das Chagas, located in Praça Monsenhor Joviniano Barreto, is one of the largest Franciscan temples in Brazil.
