Extreme poverty on Marajó Island, in Pará, leads children and teenagers to be sexually lured in exchange for money, food and even diesel oil, which is highly valuable and is known as black gold. The price of diesel is so high that many families have to choose between buying it or buying food. A video made during a police investigation shows five girls chasing a boat loaded with trucks and the truck drivers on board. In fact, according to a prosecutor, it is the families themselves who induce the children to go to the rivers to sell themselves in exchange for money and oil.
