Christine is the mother of Jochem, almost 17, who suffered brain damage in an accident in the summer of 2019. During a wrestling match while swimming, a friend landed on his neck, causing a coronary artery to burst. The next day he became unwell. The school and ambulance misjudged the connection with the dive, causing the precious 4 hours to be lost and forcing them to operate on him far too late. The result was permanent brain damage (NAH). The estimate was that he would no longer be able to walk and would go blind. But he started practicing hard at the Daan Theeuwes Center in Woerden and through a crowdfunding campaign at CognitiveFX in Utah. Eventually he was able to run and play sports again, but his speech and comprehension remained affected. Jochem himself says: 'I am happy, God is with me, that is enough, nothing more is needed'. 'What now?' is an EO YouTube series about people who experience a dramatic event and end up in a crisis as a result. All certainties fall away and the why questions arise: why is this happening to me, why now? And for those who believe in God: why does He allow this? In short: What now? Joram Kaat talks to six people with completely different stories about this quest. Because how do you manage to continue living? The series was made in the context of Jesus2033: eo.nl/jezus2033.
