In this episode of The Tribal Kitchen, we take you to Takra Pahaan village in Khunti district of Jharkhand. We show you how to cook country chicken (desi murga), and a special saag called Phutkal (फतुक्ल). Phutkal saag is made from the dried leaves of a medicinal tree. The tree is known as Pakdu tree in the state of Jharkhand have medicinal value. It's leaves are used as tummy regulator. And, when you watch the episode, you realise that interesting conversations only add to the flavour. Saloni belongs to the Oraon tribal community and is married into the Munda tribal community. We cooked desi chicken and phutkal saag with her. Apart from this, we also had an interesting conversation on the difference in the language and lifestyle of the Oraon and Munda communities.
