On August 20, 2022, numerous believers gathered in Neuzelle for the very first Adoratio Congress of the Diocese of Görlitz. The long-awaited rain did not dampen the spirits of the approximately 300 participants, who had come mainly from the Diocese of Görlitz and its neighboring dioceses. The day of retreat was solemnly opened with a pontifical mass with Bishop Wolfgang Ipolt. In his sermon, Bishop Ipolt emphasized that in every Holy Mass, which is the source and summit of all church activity, Christ's sacrifice on the cross is made present. With this awareness, it is important to participate in the celebration of the Eucharist in a real and reverent way. In the afternoon, Father Hans Buob SAC delved deeper into the theme of the congress, the worship of God, in his lecture. He made it clear that the fullness of salvation is present in every tabernacle, since Jesus himself is present here. Hans Buob pointed out the need to live from this source and to have a trusting relationship with the Lord. He therefore called on the faithful to visit Jesus in church frequently, especially outside of Holy Mass, during the day. In a personal testimony, Monika Winter talked about her experiences with Jesus and how the encounter with him changed her life. The participants gladly took advantage of the opportunity for Eucharistic adoration and confession. The sung vespers of the Cistercian monks of Neuzelle marked the end of a fulfilling day of retreat.
