From the Altamira Museum we join one more year in the celebration of the European Archaeology Days #JEArcheo #JEA2021 with the aim of showing how different research disciplines of Prehistory allow us to reconstruct our landscape and ways of life in #LosTiemposdeAltamira. When we were hunter-gatherers, Nature was the environment from which we obtained everything we needed to live. Reconstructing the ecosystems of this time is essential to understand our way of life during the Paleolithic. Pedro Castaños presents the keys to the research at the paleontological site of #Kiputz (Mutriku, Gipuzkoa) and the archaeological site of #Altamira, which have allowed us to better understand the fauna that populated the Cantabrian region some 18,000 years ago. Pedro Castaños is the head researcher at the Vertebrate Paleontology Laboratory of the Aranzadi Science Society and curator of the current temporary exhibition at the Altamira Museum Kiputz, an abyss in Prehistory.
