The books in this series will be subtitled Half World. They map the emergence and development of organized crime in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic after 1989. The entire project, which the author has been preparing for several years, will have several parts. The first is dedicated to the Russian mafia, which settled here in the early nineties. It is a project that will take you back to this decade, which in terms of gangsterism resembled the thirties of the last century in American Chicago. The series of books with the subtitle Polosvět gradually maps all the developmental phases of the mafia in the Czech Republic. JAROSLAV KMENTA Jaroslav Kmenta, born in Nymburk in 1969, is a Czech investigative journalist and writer. In 1991 he became an editor of ČTK and from 1993 worked for seven years in the daily Mladá Fronta DNES. Between 2000 and 2003 he worked for Zemské noviny, the daily Super, the daily Impuls and the magazine Instinkt. In 2003 he returned to Mladá fronta Dnes, where he worked until November 2013. He currently works for the magazine Reportér. In 2010 he received the prestigious Karel Havlíček Borovský Award for long-term and consistent investigative journalism. JAKUB SAIC He was born in Prague and after studying at the Dance Conservatory he studied acting at DAMU. During his studies he guested at the National Theatre, the Na Zábradlí Theatre and the Prague Municipal Theatres. He was one of the first members of the Kašpar Theatre Association, where he worked for almost 10 years. He then guested for several years at the Na Prádle Theatre. He also appeared in many television fairy tales and productions.
