JAKUB MAŘÍK He was born in Teplice in 1981, graduated from the School of Law and Economics and currently makes a living as a translator from English. One of the most outstanding authors of contemporary domestic science fiction & fantasy has over twenty short stories to his credit, the most popular of which is the paranormal detective story Absolute Death, for which he was nominated for the Karel Čapek Award in 2008. He publishes in anthologies (Drakobijci, Cary rubáše, Ve stínu říše, etc.) and the magazine Pevnost. He contributed the sixth volume called Drsné sny (2014) to the popular series Kladivo na charoděje. The military science fiction classic In the Shadow of the Sun is the first in a series of five stand-alone novels set in the 22nd century aboard the battleship UTSS Salamis. Jakub Mařík lives in Novosedlice near Teplice and in his spare time he enjoys hiking, gardening, reading and doing puzzles. LUBOŠ ONDRÁČEK Luboš Ondráček is a Czech actor and voice actor. He graduated from JAMU and his first engagement was in the satirical theater Večerní Brno. For six years, he worked at the Petr Bezruč Theater in Ostrava and collaborated on various projects with the television studio of ČT Ostrava. He also collaborated with Czech Television on the program Toulavá kamera.
