IZH-1. The first Izhevsk motorcycles September 17, 2021 marks the 92nd anniversary of IZH motorcycles! In honor of this birthday, a short video story-video review of one of the first IZHs - the IZH-1 motorcycle, released in 1929. The motorcycle was designed under the supervision of P.V. Mozharov, and is a V-twin with a cardan shaft, the arrangement of cylinders is like a modern Moto Guzzi (parallel twin). Thus, the experience of the 1928 run was used. The IZH-1 motorcycle is one of the first Soviet motorcycles, and it was these motorcycles that gave rise to the Soviet motorcycle industry, and also united the team in Izhevsk, which later led to the emergence of a motorcycle plant. After the Great Patriotic War, part of the motorcycle plant's team moved to Izhmash and continued developing Soviet Izhevsk motorcycles there - we all know the Izh-350, Izh-49, Izh-56, Izh Jupiter and Izh Planeta, but compared to them, the Izh-1 is a real oldtimer!
