If someone went for a walk on Włókiennicza, they either bought a vodka with meth or got punched in the face. Although the street had beautiful beginnings and amazing residents, in the Third Polish Republic it became a symbol of poverty and unemployment in Łódź. Problems were channeled here to such an extent that often, like no other in Poland, it played in war productions without make-up. It was 2014 when the City of Łódź, together with the government, finally decided to stop it. The designed revitalization program for Łódź included 8 large quarters, but this one was to be the most important, the most difficult and completely turning the table upside down. The street surface, 25 buildings, playgrounds, a passage, social institutions. Thanks to EU funds, practically not much is left of the old Włókiennicza. Today it is starting to attract tourists, new residents and entrepreneurs. I invite you for a walk. #revitalization #ilovelodz #Textile #osiecka #hilarymajewski #marekjaniak #postmodernism #secession #passage #renovation #architecture #lodz #Kamienna #palace
