Poznański. Probably the most recognizable Łódź manufacturing family. How is it possible that they achieved such great success? The foundations for the empire were laid by the doyen of the family, Kalman Poznański, who first came to Aleksandrów, then to Łódź, to create a small merchant business based on fabrics. This film places this simple story in a broader context. Where did Jews come from in Poland, when did they come to it and for what reasons? I invite you to watch it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Łódź Explorers Project is an annual series of trips and workshops for children and youth organized by the Youth Hostel in Łódź. This year, instead of walks, we are offering a film version. The film was recorded and developed by an employee of the Youth Hostel in Łódź as part of educational activities. Its nature is strictly educational and popularizing and many of the observations contained in it are made at a high level of generality.
