Acrimed, for Action-Critique-Médias, is a distinguished and public utility association that, since the mid-90s, has analyzed, criticized, and documented the functioning of the media in France. As you will have understood at Blast, the objective of raising awareness of the role, methods, practices, and influence of the media, but also their excesses, of revealing their dependence on economic and political power, seems more necessary than ever to us at the present time. So, in an ultra-concentrated, financialized and harshly ideologized media landscape, leading to an extreme right-wing shift and such a leveling of the journalistic field that the value of information is disfigured. Together, we will try to assume as best we can this neglected role of counter-power and to act as a bulwark. In short, to oppose the drift and democratic decay with real media resistance. The war and the media noise or silence that goes with it, to which we have chosen to devote this first issue, is that of Gaza. It is a review of these little more than five months of coverage of the conflict that we offer you today. Of course, we cannot claim to be exhaustive.
