Izaías Bueno de Almeida began playing the mandolin at the age of 10. When he was introduced by Jacob do Bandolim, he became the most respected mandolin player in São Paulo. Israel later moved on to the acoustic guitar, playing bossa nova, and to the electric guitar, joining yê-yê-yê groups. The early 1970s also marked the birth of Izaías e Seus Chorões, with the current line-up, together for over ten years.
