Isabella of Bavaria (Elizabeth of Bavaria, Isabeau, c. 1370 – September 24, 1435) was the Queen of France and the wife of Charles VI the Mad. From 1403 onwards, she periodically ruled the country. After Charles VI began to suffer from bouts of insanity and power effectively passed to the queen, Isabella was unable to pursue a firm political line and rushed from one court group to another. The queen was extremely unpopular with the people, especially because of her extravagance. In 1420, she signed the Treaty of Troyes, recognizing the English king Henry V as the heir to the French crown. In fiction, she has a persistent reputation as a harlot, although modern researchers believe that this could largely be the result of propaganda. That's right. Echo of Moscow.
