Brutalism is concrete, it is an architectural style and it is hip. The building blocks of the 60s and 70s, once admired and much reviled, are experiencing a comeback. The post-war buildings are being celebrated everywhere, in exhibitions and magazines. The online community in particular is calling for the concrete monsters to be saved under the hashtag #sosbrutalism. Because many had already been demolished or renovated to ruin before the monument protection authorities took over - including in Nuremberg. Our film "Is this architecture or can it be thrown away?" goes in search of examples of this sculptural style of construction, which is as raw as it is original and futuristic in terms of design and material: Norishalle, Scharrer-Gymnasium, Norikus.
