IS DESTINY PRE-DETERMINED? Destiny, sometimes called fate, is a predetermined course of events. It can be formulated as a predetermined future. What do Christians think about destiny and what does the Bible teach about it? 1. Things that cannot be chosen! Where to be born, in what circumstances, constitution, condition, etc. Things that are called inborn. Some people seem to be endowed with too many talents, beauty, agility, popularity. Others are ugly, hateful, clumsy, etc. Acts 17:26. He made from one man every nation of men to inhabit the whole earth, and determined their appointed times and the limits of their dwelling places. 2. Things that can be chosen. God gave man freedom, including the freedom to choose to reject Him. Our Decisions Affect Destiny God chose Saul to be king, chose Solomon to be king, chose Judas to be his disciple—but their destiny was up to them. John 6:70. Jesus answered, Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil! Isaiah 55:6, 7.
