Technical Limitations on the Development and Maintenance of Nuclear Bombs in Iran In addition to the legal and international limitations mentioned earlier, Iran also faces a set of technical and scientific challenges that prevent it from developing and maintaining a nuclear bomb. These technical limitations have arisen for various reasons, including lack of resources, technological complexities, and implementation difficulties in producing nuclear weapons. The most important of these technical limitations are discussed here: 1. Access to nuclear raw materials One of the biggest challenges for Iran is securing the raw materials for making nuclear weapons. Two main materials are needed to produce a nuclear bomb: Enriched uranium: To produce a nuclear weapon, uranium must reach an enrichment level of over 90 percent. While Iran is able to enrich uranium to some extent to lower enrichment levels, achieving high enrichment levels for nuclear weapons requires advanced technologies and specialized facilities that Iran currently has limitations in developing. Plutonium: Another critical material for nuclear weapons is plutonium, which is produced from nuclear reactions in specialized reactors. Iran uses its nuclear facilities to produce plutonium, but building a reactor suitable for producing plutonium on an industrial scale requires facilities and technologies that Iran is not yet fully capable of building. 2. Advanced enrichment technology Iran uses centrifuges to enrich uranium, which have limitations in enrichment rates and speeds in older technologies, especially the IR-1 and IR-2M centrifuges. Although Iran has made progress in this area and is using more advanced centrifuges such as the IR-6, these technologies still cannot reach a level that allows the production of large quantities of highly enriched uranium (above 90%) in a short time. These limitations are due to: Lack of access to advanced centrifuge technologies: Due to sanctions, Iran is deprived of importing and developing some of the more sophisticated technologies such as new-generation centrifuges that are capable of faster and more effective enrichment. Problems with the speed of enrichment: To produce a nuclear bomb, a high speed in the enrichment process is needed. The use of centrifuges available in Iran commercially and on a large scale still faces limitations that reduce their efficiency in rapidly producing the enriched uranium needed to make nuclear weapons. 3. Technical Challenges in Plutonium Production Plutonium production through nuclear reactors requires special reactors and complex technologies. Iran uses reactors such as the Arak reactor, which are designed to produce plutonium. But some of the main problems in this area are: Controlling the plutonium production process: To extract plutonium from the reactor, special techniques are needed to control the production process and separate the materials. Processes such as nuclear fuel reprocessing can lead to the production of dangerous and harmful radioactive materials. Nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities: Iran has not been able to fully develop the facilities needed to reprocess its nuclear fuel due to sanctions and technical problems. These facilities are essential for extracting plutonium from spent fuel in reactors. 4. Technological capabilities in nuclear weapons production To design and produce a nuclear bomb, Iran needs highly advanced technical knowledge in the following areas: Nuclear weapon design: Designing a nuclear weapon requires detailed knowledge in the field of nuclear physics and materials engineering. These designs must be made specifically to create nuclear chain reactions that release significant energy. Explosive material combination: To make a nuclear bomb, conventional explosive materials and nuclear materials must be combined precisely and effectively. This process requires complex technologies, in which Iran still has limitations. Weapons testing and evaluation technologies: One of the fundamental challenges in the development of nuclear weapons is the need to test and evaluate nuclear weapons. Iran is deprived of the technologies required to test nuclear weapons due to international restrictions and lack of access to appropriate facilities. ************************************************************ ⛔ If you liked this video, I suggest you check out these videos too, I'm sure you'll be surprised ⛔ ????
