About :

Thyroid cancers sometimes require treatment with radioactive iodine. For this treatment, a hospitalization of a few days is necessary, in a specialized department such as the endocrinology and nuclear medicine department of the Bordeaux University Hospital. The patient's referring physician explains, during a dedicated consultation, how the treatment is carried out, but sometimes it is difficult to retain all this information. This is why, in collaboration with patients, the Bordeaux University Hospital offers you this short film for patients and their loved ones to explain the treatment process. This work is the result of close collaboration between the endocrinology, endocrine oncology, nuclear medicine and radiopharmacy departments of the Haut-Leveque hospital in Pessac. Special thanks to the patients, Jocelyne Guitard (director), Magalie Haissaguerre (onco-endocrinologist) and Julie Miguel (radiopharmacist) who worked on this project to improve the care and experience of patients.
