Abbas Akhundi: Israel is seeking to somehow disarm its rivals in the region. Iran should adopt the strategy of an active neutral state and officially declare that it is not the backyard and ally of any of the world powers. The fact that we considered China and Russia as our allies has not helped us at all, the security situation of Hezbollah, Russia and Syria in the region confirms this! Ibrahim Mottaki: Given the historical record we had in Iran, neutrality is not desirable for us. Neutrality is possible when the country's deterrence is not weakened. International politics and major powers never give a regional power freedom of action. In previous governments, we saw that Iran showed flexibility and wanted a relationship with the United States, but they were the ones who stepped aside.
