With an IQ of over 130, you are considered highly gifted. Around 2 percent of the German population fall into this spectrum, the German IQ average is 100. But what is it like to live with a high IQ? Does that make everything easier? In this film, reporter Carolin von der Groeben meets two people who are highly gifted and finds out what it is like to always be the most intelligent person in the room. Although the two find it easy to understand complex relationships, simple everyday life sometimes presents difficulties for them. Routine tasks such as going shopping are a challenge for Nicole: only the product with the best price-performance ratio is an option for her. She finds it very difficult to switch off her head for a while. Yanis suffers especially at school. At the age of 12, he had already had to change schools three times and attended a half-day high school for adults. Both also have problems in their social lives. Always being one step ahead of your fellow human beings is exhausting in the long run. When they speak out and intervene in their environment, they are quickly labelled as know-it-alls. ------------ Reporter: Carolin von der Groeben Editor: Danny Breuker Camera: Jurek Veit, Henrike Böttcher, Antonia Lilly Schanze Editor-in-chief: Lea Semen ---------- More on the topic: Uniqate - Platform for gifted people: https://www.uniqate.org/ Welt.de: Nobody talks about the discrimination against gifted people https://www.welt.de/debatte/kommentar...
