In this class, we will begin studying a series of chemical equilibria involving ions. These equilibria are called ionic equilibria. The equilibria involving weak acids, weak bases and water stand out. The latter is of great importance in everyday life, as it is from it that we construct the concept of pH. It is an important tool for determining the acidity and basicity of systems. We will study Ostwald's dilution law, an important tool for determining the constant of these weak electrolytes and also for the degree of ionization of these species. We will do a sequence of exercises to understand the applicability of Ostwald's dilution law in its most different forms. The study of ionic equilibrium will prepare us for a study of the possible reaction of salts with water, called saline hydrolysis, so focus on your studies and let's go! Have a good class!
