About :

Ion Andreevich Suruceanu was born on September 9, 1949 in the village of Suruceni, Ialoveni district. His father is Andrei Suruceanu, and his mother is Parascovia Suruceanu. He made his debut in 1968 as a soloist of the Noroc ensemble, where he remained until 1970. In 1978-1979 he was a soloist of the Bukuria ensemble. In 1981, Suruceanu graduated from the Chisinau College of Music, where he studied bassoon and piano. Since the mid-1980s, he has become the most popular singer in Moldova, his fame having crossed the borders of the republic. During this period, songs in Russian appeared in Suruceanu's repertoire, the most famous of which is Forget-me-not (music by V. Dobrynin, lyrics by M. Ryabinin), which was featured in the finale of Song of the Year (1989). In 1986-1993 I. A. Suruceanu performed with the group "Real".
