Tabea has never had sexual intercourse. But not because she hasn't wanted to. But because she can't have (vaginal) sex. Because: Tabea suffers from vaginismus. This means that while others can try things out and relax, for her just trying to insert something into her vagina is extremely painful. Vaginismus is a pain disorder in which the pelvic floor muscles contract unconsciously and reflexively. This means that nothing can penetrate the vagina without pain - no finger, no tampon and certainly no penis. Vaginismus is therefore a major psychological burden for many people. Useless tips such as "Relax!" or "Drink a little alcohol!" have only increased Tabea's insecurity. Whether in her love life or in everyday life and leisure time, her vaginismus affects her in different situations. She herself doesn't really know why she has vaginismus. This year, Tabea has decided to finally tackle it. She is currently undergoing therapy to get closer to the reasons for her vaginismus. And she regularly does relaxation exercises and pelvic floor training because that can help cure her vaginismus. Frank also allows her to talk to someone she is currently dating... In this episode you will see how to react when you find out that your partner cannot have sex and how Tabea deals with her vaginismus. 00:00 - 00:40 Welcome 00:40 - 01:13 How does she make vaginismus noticeable? 01:13 - 01:50 What is vaginismus? 01:50 - 02:16 How does vaginismus arise? 02:16 - 03:10 What does vaginismus mean for everyday life? 03:10 - 04:08 Can choice of partner influence vaginismus? 04:08 - 07:00 What is it like to date someone with vaginismus? 07:00 - 07:55 What can you do about vaginismus? 07:55 - 11:03 How do you react to vaginismus? 11:03 - 12:15 Dilators for vaginismus 12:15 - 13:09 Pelvic floor training for vaginismus 13:09 - 13:33 Reasons for vaginismus 13:33 - 15:49 Exercises for vaginismus 15:49 - 16:51 How should you deal with vaginismus? Why do we let animals suffer? Do we drink too much? Or: What does porn do to us? My team and I are interested in questions that have a direct impact on our lives, but also topics that are important to all of us and are often only discussed superficially. We look for answers to these questions, week after week - openly, honestly and independently. We don't meet experts to do this, we are there: at the slaughterhouse, at the swinger party, while proselytizing in the pedestrian zone. And because we want to get to know as many perspectives as possible in our search, we always spend several weeks thinking about a question. In the end, we want to give an answer, even if that isn't easy for us. With every video - but especially in the discussions with you - we get a little closer to an answer to the big, tricky questions.
