At the age of 16, he developed anxiety and compulsions, no longer dared to walk past cracks in the asphalt, and developed a compulsive washing disorder. When he was an inpatient in a psychiatric clinic for the first time, contrary to expectations, he did well. Suddenly he was seen, heard, and part of a group. His distress was met with understanding and acceptance. After each discharge, the dilemma started all over again until he went to clinic again. Mario soon succumbs to this vicious circle, and so his stays become longer and his time at home becomes shorter. In the remote village where he grew up, he lives in the basement of his parents' house. There he is confronted with his worst triggers: loneliness and the past. Mario wants to manage to settle into his life and get by without having to stay in hospital. He succeeds best in doing this at drama school. He dreams of becoming an actor and of building a social environment outside of hospitals that accepts him as he is. Mario is very concerned that people with mental illnesses receive more acceptance and understanding from society. ???? Did you like this video? Give us a like! Even more 37 degrees: ????
