USEFUL CIRCUITS 14. INVERTER 12V to 220/125V 600W. PART 1. THE TRANSFORMER In this first part we will deal with modifying a toroidal transformer to adjust it to the necessary characteristics of this project: The steps to follow are basically these: 1. Determine the power of the core based on its area 2. Remove the secondary windings leaving the primary of 220/125 3. Wind a test winding of 10 turns 4. Measure induced voltage in that 10-turn winding 5. Use the rule of 3 to deduce how many turns will be necessary for a winding for 12, 24, 36 or 48 volts 6. Consult a table to choose a thickness of wire to wind 7. Make the winding 8. Test the transformer 9. Finishing and finishing the transformer The next video, the second part, will be about the inverter circuit as well as the box and annexes to make a compact device that we can transport: • Inverter 12 to 220V 600W.
